3D Check In Globe
A globe overlay for your stream. Viewers type
!checkin <location> in chat and a pin drops where they
are. Works on Twitch and Kick.
Set it up
- In OBS, add a Browser source to your scene.
-
Set the URL to your channel name:
https://checkin.triodeofficial.com/yourchannelnameUse your Twitch or Kick channel name — if it is the same on both, one browser source covers both chats. - Set the size to 1080 × 1080, then click OK.
-
Type
!checkin chicagoin your own chat to test it. Your own check-in shows as a beacon rather than a pin.
The background is transparent, so the globe layers over whatever is behind it. Channel names can be up to 25 letters, numbers and underscores, and cannot start with an underscore.
The bot joins your chat while the browser source is open and leaves shortly after you close it.
Let the bot talk
Mod the bot, or your chat will drop what it says. In your Twitch chat,
type:
/mod streamdjbot
On Kick, mod thecheckinglobe the same way.
Once it can talk, a check-in looks like this:
streamdjbot: @viewer checked in from Chicago, IL, USA Local time: Sep 7, 03:42 PM CDT
Pins drop either way — modding only decides whether anyone sees
the reply. !globe mute turns the replies off on purpose.
Commands for everyone
!checkin <location> |
Drops your pin on the globe. A city, state, province, country,
airport code, postal code or plus code all work —
!checkin 90210, !checkin LHR,
!checkin 上海.
|
!timezone <location> |
Replies with the current local time in that place. |
!localtime <location> |
The same as !timezone. |
Commands for the streamer
These only work when the broadcaster types them. Type
!globe on its own for the list in chat.
| Command | What it does |
|---|---|
!globe reload |
Redraws the globe with every saved pin. |
!globe reset |
Clears the pins and starts the map empty. Your check-in history is kept. |
!globe hide |
Takes the globe off screen until you run
!globe reload.
|
!globe unpin <username> |
Removes one person's pin without disturbing anyone else's. |
!globe mute |
Stops the bot replying in chat. Pins still drop as people check in. |
!globe unmute |
Lets the bot talk again. |
!globe scale <0.1–3> |
How large the globe is. 1 is the default. |
!globe angle <-1.57–1.57> |
Camera height. 0 looks at the equator, positive numbers look down from above. |
!globe speed <1–120> |
Seconds per rotation, so lower spins faster. 28 is the default. |
!globe maxpins <10–1000> |
How many pins stay on screen. The oldest drop off past this. |
!globe antispam <0–1440> |
Minutes a viewer must wait between check-ins.
!globe antispam 10 holds them to one every ten
minutes, !globe antispam 0 turns it off. You are
exempt from your own cooldown.
|
Scale, angle, speed, maxpins and the antispam cooldown are saved for your channel, so the globe comes back the way you left it after a refresh or a restart. You only have to frame it once.
Where your check-ins go
Every check-in is kept, so
https://checkin.triodeofficial.com/stats/yourchannelname
shows where your viewers are watching from. !globe reset and
!globe unpin only clear the map — they never delete
that record.
